The Therapeutic Relationship Matters Most

Psychotherapy is fundamentally relational — it's the pairing between you and your therapist that shapes your experience. Research consistently shows that the quality of this relationship matters more than any specific technique or modality (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.). That said, I'm trained and continue learning throughout my career. Therapy that isn't working can stagnate or cause harm. What makes the difference is when I'm attuned to you, you're willing to gradually open to change, and we have good rapport.

What to Expect

This work requires vulnerability and trust — and it isn't always easy or comfortable. Sometimes your role is simply to show up; other times, you'll need to dig deeper for progress to happen. Even helpful changes can feel disruptive. Therapy works best when you're open to trusting the process and feel we're a good match.

How I Work

I create a safe space and move at your pace. When you're not ready to open up, that's valuable information to explore together — not a sign you're unsuitable for therapy. I don't view hesitation as "resistance" to work; I see it as something to understand and work through. Like any relationship, ruptures can happen, and navigating them skillfully strengthens trust.

How to Get Started

  1. Contact me. Reach out using any of the contact methods.
  2. Free consultation. We'll talk through your needs and make sure I'm a good fit for you.
  3. Schedule your first session. If you're ready, we'll find a time that works for you. Everything happens online.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Every first session is different — it depends on what brings you in and what you need right now.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy. Typically, we'll review your history, current concerns, and any questions you have about the process. This session helps us establish a foundation for our work together.

How Telehealth Works

All sessions are conducted online using a HIPAA-compliant platform. You'll join from a quiet, private space on your device. Sessions work just like in-person therapy — we talk face-to-face on video, and everything is confidential and secure.

For more details on technical requirements, security, and how telehealth compares to in-person therapy, see Telehealth.

Fees & Insurance

Standard Session:
My standard fees are $225/session. Most patients meet weekly, though frequency depends on your needs.
Subscription Plan:
Four sessions per month at 15% off the regular fee.
Sliding Scale:
I offer a limited number of significantly reduced fee spots based on income and financial circumstances.
Insurance:
I'm out-of-network with all providers. Many patients can submit claims for reimbursement to help with the cost. I'll provide documentation (a "superbill") to help with that process.

Questions about fees or payment options? Contact me — I'm happy to discuss what works for you.
